Like I said last week, Baby will be a papaya for another few weeks. I'm now entering my 6th month of pregnancy at 23 weeks! I really can't believe that there are only 17 more weeks left until we get to meet this little guy! There are still soooo many things left to do, that time is going to fly by.
After hours of searching on the internet and in fabric stores, I have finally decided on the fabric for the nursery. I've decided to keep it really simple with a royal blue, light blue, red, and khaki striped print. Then I'll match it with solids. I figure there is going to be quite a bit going on with the travel theme that I should keep the fabrics simple. Plus this fabric matches the Paddington Bear we bought in London at Harrods (who is now resting on the new dresser).
Now for the baby news...
The Punisher is definitely growing! And he LOVES chocolate!!! Last night I indulged with a double chocolate Haagan Daz ice cream bar, and he was doing acrobatics for over two hours straight.
How far along: 23 weeks
Maternity Clothes: Still getting away with the prepregnancy tops, but when it's really hot you can usually find me chilling on the couch in a pair of Keenan's boxers and a tank top
Stretch Marks: Not yet (knock on wood)
Sleep: Interrupted with bathroom breaks and dreams of talking kittens
Best Moment this Week: Saturday in Seattle! I had a morning photo session, then had a great lunch with the hubs and some shopping!!!
Movement: I'm thinking we're in for an active baby! Last night he performed acrobatics for over two hours!!!
Food Cravings: Last night I really wanted some fried chicken! But the craving wasn't too big, so I just ignored it. Figured I would save up my "send the hubby to the store" trips for when I really need them.
Gender: Definite boy!!!
Labor Signs: Nope! Let's keep it that way for awhile.
Belly Button: Still an innie, but not for too much longer
What I Miss: Not having to get up to empty my bladder three times a night, oh, and lemonade with blueberry vodka
What I'm Looking Forward to this Week: Spending the Fourth with our company!
Weekly Wisdom: The sooner you drag yourself out of bed to use the restroom, the sooner you can get back to sleep!

Fruit of the Week: 22 Weeks
So apparently we're running out of large fruits, because from this point on the weekly fruits are replaced by monthly fruits. So for the next few weeks, The Punisher is a variety of sizes of papaya! He can also hear things outside of the womb (and apparently he is total boy already, because he was going crazy in there when he heard the gun blasts from a movie we were watching. Why do I see a collection of GI Joe's in my near future?). He is also starting to taste things, and he LOVES the Costco chocolate cake =)

Decisions, Decisions
So I've been making so many decisions (or atleast trying to) that I think my brain is fried! The good news is that thanks to Grandpa B, the nursery is coming along nicely! I'm still not 100% certain on the top color, but figure once I have my fabrics I can decide if I want to change it or not. The crib is almost put together (just need to put together the drawer and attach it), and I scored big time with my dresser purchase! It was regularly $430, discontinued so it was marked down to $299. BabiesRUs didn't have any left in the warehouse, so I had to take the floor model. I got a discount for that, and I had a 15% off coupon, so the total came to $229!
As for fabrics, I received the sample that I had ordered from the first fabric listed below and decided it was more green than I was going for. And I'm worried that the prints are too busy for the look I'm trying to accomplish, so I'm back to square one. I think now that the crib is up, the dresser is in place and I've started my first travel themed painting that I can better start picturing exactly what I want.
I'm just hoping that I'll be able to finish all these projects before The Punisher gets here =)

Fruit of the Week: 21 Weeks
He's a banana this week (a really active banana!). His tastebuds are now working, and I'm pretty sure he loves the taste of Costco's triple chocolate cake! The past few nights I've indulged in small(ish) portions of that cake with a tall glass of milk, and a little while later he always starts to go crazy. Too much sugar, perhaps?
Grandpa B has started work on the nursery! I wasn't sure about the paint colors I had picked out once I saw them go on the walls, but figure I can change it at a later date if I'm really not happy. I'm trying to pick out the fabrics for his nursery, and these are the ones I like so far:
So many projects! I've barely started and already my mind is going crazy! I should just host a huge "Come Work on Our Nursery" Party! I may even supply pizza to those who show up! Who's game?

It's a .....
BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby A was so cooperative and showed us his goods last Wednesday at the ultrasound! I knew right away what the extra appendage was, and had to explain to the stunned daddy (we both were convinced it was a girl!). We are both really excited and can't wait to buy him his first Duck-wear!
Along with the money shot, the tech showed us many different images of Baby A. The first shot of the head was straight on, kind of creepy looking. I guess many people think their baby looks like an alien when they see this shot, but my first reaction was that he looks like The Punisher logo. I said this before I knew it was a boy, and on my way home from BRU later that day I saw a car with a Punisher bumber sticker, so Baby A's nickname is totally set: The Punisher.
Next we were able to see a shot of the profile, which was much cuter! Baby A has a tiny upturned nose and I think he's going to look very much like his dad when he's born.
After the tech gathered all the measurements and information she needed, she told us that everything looked great and that he is measuring a few days ahead. The next day at my doctor appointment, my doctor asked me how much I weighed when I was born. I told her I was 8lbs 10oz and she said that I am pretty right on track to have one of those myself!!! I'm growing a big one!!! He's already 13oz, give or take a few, and I definitely feel him in there stretching out my uterus.
I'm so excited to be having a boy and I can't wait to hold him! 19 more weeks! In the meantime, I guess I'll have to be content to finish all my projects!

Fruit of the Week: 20 weeks
How far along: 20 weeks
Maternity Clothes: There are a few tops that I can still wear that aren't maternity, but they grow shorter and shorter each week
Stretch Marks: Not yet (knock on wood)
Sleep: Down to one bathroom break and I tend to avoid a lot of sugar before bed which seems to cut back on the dreams
Best Moment this Week: Shopping for something special to wear for the Pink & Blue party
Movement: Oh yeah! Especially right in the morning and at night. And then an occasional head poke by the belly button!
Food Cravings: Still nothing really. Wondering when this will kick in and when I'll start adding the weight.
Gender: Finding out tomorrow!!!
Labor Signs: None, thank goodness! Have to wait another 18 weeks atleast please!
Belly Button: Not what it used to be. Wider and more shallow, but still an innie (please, please stay that way!)
What I Miss: Not really missing too much of anything this week! Just enjoying being pregnant!
What I'm Looking Forward to this Week: Finding out whether Baby A is a boy or girl, the Pink & Blue party, spending time with family and friends, and Costco Chocolate cake!!! I sooo can't wait for this!
Weekly Wisdom: Seems like I'm fresh out of wisdom for the moment.
Yay, I'm halfway through!!! Baby A is 20 weeks today, and the size of a cantaloupe!!! So many exciting things are beginning to happen, and I can't wait for more! Tomorrow is our anatomy ultrasound and we get to find out if Baby A is a boy or girl (well, hopefully baby will cooperate and flash the goods!). I'm really, really looking forward to this and feel like once I know the sex that this baby becomes even more "real"
Thursday will be our 20 week appointment with Dr. Song, and then we head down to Portland to par-tay! Friday night is our Pink & Blue party, and I'm still trying to figure out a fun way to reveal the news (yes, I'm a bit of a procrastinater!) Saturday I'm spending a special day with my mom, then Sunday we are taking my dad home with us so he can get started on the many, many projects that are accumulating!
My summer schedule is filling up pretty fast these days, with baby appointments, parties, and photo sessions with clients! I can't believe that a few weeks ago I was nervous because I didn't have a whole lot of bookings, but my June weekends quickly filled up, and July is halfway full! Which is great, because the more sessions I have, the more $$$ I can spend on Baby! This kid isn't going to be spoiled at all.... ;)

Marvin the Martian
Yup, I think I'm growing an alien! Last week while trying to keep cool in the 90 degree weather, I was lying flat on my back with a cold wet washcloth over my bump. All of the sudden there was a good sized, hard lump on the right side of my belly button! Of course, after a gently prodding, it disappeared! I've felt the baby move around in there for awhile now, but that was the first time that there was physical evidence!

My Friday Funny
I have really gotten into sewing lately! I've been hard at work making cute things for Baby A and figured since I have the machine out, I might as well try selling a few things on Etsy. My first projects were some bibs and burp clothes, and I really had a routine going cutting out the fabric, sewing it, turning it, ironing it, then topstitching. It wasn't until I was ironing a particular batch of items that I noticed one of my bibs might not be appropriate to sell. Here it is, can you tell me what's wrong with this picture? I showed K to see if he could point it out, and it didn't even take him a minute to figure it out. I figured I better scrap the idea to sell this bib, but am definitely going to keep it for Baby A! Heehee =)

Crazy, Vivid Dreams!!!
If you have ever heard that pregnant women have more dreams, let me tell you, this one's true! Last Saturday I had four nightmares!!! I'm thinking these might have been the product of too much sugar before bedtime, but still, four???
Nightmare #1: K and I had an enormous fight, he stuck my shoes in a mailbox and then drove off in his own car
Nightmare #2: Feeling sorry for myself after said fight, I head to my parents house only to realize someone had broken in (intruder dreams are apparently common in pregnant women)
After these dreams, I made Keenan wake up and go check our house for burglars.
Nightmare #3: I was a high ticket winner at Chuck E Cheese and they wanted to award me so they made me sit on top of this really high podium thing so the whole restaurant could see me. The lady worker made me sign a whole bunch of documents, and when she left I jumped off the podium and wanted to cash in my tickets and leave. Only to find out that they closed the ticket redemption shop because they sold out of most things. I was soooo mad! Nightmare status worthy indeed!
Nightmare #4: Not really sure what this one was about because I can't remember, but I do know there was another one!
The next two nights were pretty relaxing (in fact, I think I was able to sleep through one entire night without a potty break!) However, last night, the dreams started again. Luckily they weren't nightmare worthy.
Dream #1: I had my first labor dream! I went to the hospital to give birth, and the next thing I know I'm waking up in a hospital bed. Meaning I had blacked out and couldn't remember the labor AT ALL!!! I couldn't even remember the moment that my mom came in! Apparently they gave me too much medication of some sort, and while I seemed all there and pushed that baby out, I had no recollection of doing so. Then my dream contradicted itself when I found out that I did the whole birth without drugs. Hmmmm....
Dream #2: Okay, this one could be labeled nightmarish. Mutants were taking over our bodies and we had to escape to Canada. K and I decided that we couldn't hide from them any longer, so we sprinkled ourselves with some type of orange glistening stuff (because apparently when you become a mutant you turn sparkly orange), and tried to act like the mutants.
Ummm, yeah, like I said, crazy, vivid dreams!

Weekly Survey
I thought I would try something new with the fruit of the week posts: a weekly pregnancy survey! So here goes:
How far along? 19 weeks today! Baby's a mango!
Maternity clothes? Yup, ever since the button on my prepregnancy jeans popped off.
Stretch marks? Not yet, hoping it stays that way!
Sleep: Full of very vivid dreams and interrupted with at least two trips to the bathroom
Best moment this week: Picnic at Golden Gardens in Seattle with my husband
Movement: Lots of flipping going around in there!
Food cravings: Surprisingly I haven't really had many food cravings, which is totally weird since I always had strong cravings before I was pg. I'm going to have to go with cookies though.
Gender: Finding out next week!
Labor Signs: Not for another 4 months please!
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie, but not as deep and a little wider. I'm really hoping it won't pop out!
What I miss: Lemonade with blueberry vodka and the nights where I could sleep all the way through without potty breaks
What I am looking forward to this week: Dinner at Olive Garden tonight, I love not having to cook!
Weekly Wisdom: Probably the advice I gave to my husband...Due to the increase of hormones in your pregnant wife, it's best to treat her like a wild animal. Do Not provoke her anger and you would be wise to keep her fed at most times, lest she bite your head off...

Fruit of the Week: 19 Weeks
There's a mango rolling around in my belly this week! Baby A is growing, and every night when I prop up my legs on the couch I'm able to feel his/her acrobatic routine. The movements are too soft to feel from the outside still, but I'm sure it won't be long.
And the belly continues to grow! Infact, I'm starting to get my first "stranger" comments. Today a neighbor asked me if I was pregnant, so I'm definitely showing!
