Baby's the size of a lemon this week! I'm pretty amazed that I have a whole lemon in me, but it sure explains the size of my stomach these days! I keep forgetting to take a recent photo, but trust me, one's coming soon.
I've been keeping myself busy with photography and cleaning my house. We're heading down to Eugene pretty soon, and on our way home we're picking up Grandpa B in Portland! I've recruited my dad to help us paint the nursery, refinish a crib, put up molding, plus a million other things that need to be done around the house! We get him for almost a week, so I'm pretty happy about that! My mom is worried he's going to get bored, but I just don't think she realizes how much I have for him to do =) And if he's lucky, I may let the man rest once in awhile.

One Down, Two to Go!
Last week I entered a very important milestone in this pregnancy...the second trimester!!! Or in other words, the "Dang, I really need to start on my projects" phase! So while these next few months are going to be filled with important milestones (such as feeling the baby move for the first time - can't wait!-, and finding out the sex of the baby -which by the way, you can now vote what you think Baby A is going to be on the left side of the screen-), they are also going to be filled with projects ( such as shopping -!!!!!!-, crafts, nursery decorating, registering, etc). All of these things I'm really, really looking forward too!
The books also claim that I will start to feel more energetic during these next few months, but I'll believe that one when I see it (I fell asleep last night by 8:00, which I don't think I have done since I was a kid). And of course, this is the start of the time that I start to pack on the pounds. Which probably won't be very hard to do now that Sonics has opened a few miles away from my house!
So basically, stay tuned for updates on Baby, the nursery, crafts, and yes, there will probably be an update on what I order from Sonics =)

Fruit of the Week:
Baby's a peach this week! It really continues to amaze me how fast things develop during pregnancy. Not only is the baby nearly 3 inches long, but he/she is developing vocal cords this week (meaning in a little over six months we're going to be in trouble =) ).
It's also surprising to see how my body has changed over these last few months. I was used to my stomach having a little pouch after eating a big meal, but now that "little pouch" never quite leaves me. Infact, it's growing! I thought that would be a difficult thing for me to deal with, but I'm actually very okay with with gaining weight. After nine months of trying to conceive, I'm sporting this baby bump with pride!

Shopping!
Yesterday Keenan and I went to the Supermall for some maternity clothes. The first thing that we did when we got there was head to the food court, because let's face it, mama had to eat! While eating a delicious bacon cheeseburger, I realized that this is probably one of the few times in my life where it's actually a good thing to eat before you go shopping! We all know that bikini and jean shopping is not really a pleasant experience when you're sporting a hamburger belly, but in the case of maternity clothes, a little more belly bump is probably a good thing!
The one thing I was really looking for was a pair of jeans, so we headed to the Old Navy maternity section and I loaded up! In the dressing room they had the fake pregger bellies, so to entertain my husband (who was waiting very, very patiently), I donned one of those bellies and a tank and called him to my dressing room. I wish I had a picture of how huge his eyes got! He then asked if that's how I'm going to look, and I told him I'm most likely going to rock the big belly style this summer!
I think it was a pretty successful trip though! I scored a pair of jeans, two sweaters and two tanks, all for under $65. Not too bad... (yet!).

Fruit of the Week: 12 weeks
I forgot to mention that my doctor has decided to go with my original due date afterall, which was October 27th, 2009. A few days might not seem like much, but trust me, when you are anxious to hold that little baby in your arms, a few days are priceless!
So that means I'm 12 weeks pregnant today, another week and I'll be out of the first trimester! The baby is the size of a large plum this week, which is probably why my clothes are fitting a little more snug these days.

I'm taking this as a sign...
Last Friday I was wearing my favorite pair of jeans, and everything was going well until "Pop!". The button that fastens the jeans together popped off when I sat down!!! I swear I'm not that big yet, however I'm thinking that's my sign that I should be looking into maternity clothes soon.
Luckily, that wasn't the only thing that happened on Friday. I had the BEST first appointment ever! Normally at first appointments, you are given a pap smear and blood work done, however I just had a yearly exam last January and they already took my blood when I had the spotting issues, so no need to get poked or prodded! And we got to see the baby again! Normally my doctor doesn't do ultrasounds every visit, but since the machine was in the room already she said she was going to spoil me =) And I'm so glad that she did! The baby grew sooo much these past few weeks, and he/she was jumping around and waving! It's a little surreal to think there's a tiny human in my abdomen jumping around right now, but absolutely amazing nonetheless! And the heartbeat was a steady 140, so everything is looking great!
My next appointment is May 15th, and hopefully we'll schedule the big ultrasound soon after that! Votes are pretty 50/50 at the moment as to whether it's a boy or girl, so it will just make the pink and blue party we are planning to have that much more fun!

I'm Doomed!
When your pregnant and can't sleep very well at night, people say it's your bodies way of preparing for sleepless nights as a new parent. If the past nights have been any indication, my baby will sleep for 30 minute increments only and be up for atleast an hour in between. Which means, I'm in trouble!
Tomorrow's my first official appointment with my doctor, which is really great since those feelings of "is there really a baby in there?" have come back. I'm hoping we'll hear the heartbeat for the first time, but it might be too early still. While I'm looking forward this next visit, there are two things I'm not so anxious for: peeing in a tiny cup and stepping on "the liar" (<--- what the nurse has aptly named the scale at the office).
The other day I realized that at over 10 weeks, I'm a quarter of the way through this pregnancy. While that fact is extremely exciting, I can't help but hear the clock ticking away on the time left for me to plan things; the nursery, registering, etc. And being almost eleven weeks pregnant, there are a few things I'm really starting to miss: feta cheese, hot baths (and oh, man have I missed those!), and staying up until 11pm. Infact, right now I'm really trying to stay awake for Hell's Kitchen!
Just a few more weeks until the second trimester (which people say you get your energy back...we'll see)!

Baby's First Photo!!!
I have this feeling that Baby A has been going through a major growth spurt these last few weeks, because I have been exhausted!!! So tired, infact, that I realize I never updated this blog with Baby's first picture (what was I thinking???)!
A week and a half ago, we went in to a lab for our second ultrasound. According to the doctor, I should have been 7 weeks, 2 days, so the technician told me she would start with the abdominal ultrasound and then also do an internal. The baby had grown sooooo much that it didn't take long at all to find him/her on the screen =) Infact, the tech said she was measuring me at 8 weeks, 3 days and estimated my new due date of October 30, 2009!!! She also didn't have to do the internal ultrasound afterall, since the images from the abdominal were really good (hey, I didn't hold in 20 oz of water for nothing that morning!).
So here you go, Baby A's first photo (but certainly not the last!!!):
Okay, so the baby still looks more blob-like than baby-like, but it was absolutely amazing to see the heartbeat on the monitor! Plus, the baby has most likely grown even more since then. I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow, and according to the books, the baby should be measuring 1.5 inches!!! And while baby is growing, well, so is Mommy =)
Yup, I have a bloat bump! And while I'm updating this blog with some pictures, here's one of the boxes that I made to tell our parents about the new addition:
